STN recently established a Nurse Leadership Institute to offer opportunities for aspiring leaders in trauma care to learn and grow in their profession. The Leadership Institute directly supports and enhances the mission, vision and strategic plan of STN by addressing the specialized needs of a trauma leader.
The Leadership Institute is designed to equip trauma leaders with the tools needed to effectively lead from the bedside to the boardroom and beyond. This is a web-based course, utilizing experienced speakers, journal clubs, PowerPoint presentations, creative tool box items and blogs, occurring over a 12 week period beginning in January 2015.
This course will deliver leadership topics that will assist the trauma leader to grow both personally and professionally in their leadership role including:
Communication and Relationship Management
Leadership
Professionalism
Knowledge of the Healthcare Environment
Business Skills and Knowledge
The deadline to apply is November 1, 2014. There is no charge to participate in the STN Leadership Institute web-based course; however, participation is limited to those STN members who meet the selection criteria.
